On December 8, 9 and 10, 2009, Ms. Gaëlle Chavignot, project manager at the SLGO, conducted a tour to introduce the corporation and its operations to representatives from the University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM) and the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres (UQTR), currently active members. This tour was organized in cooperation with Mr. Pierre Magnan, director of the SLGO, professor at the UQTR, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Freshwater Ecology at the UQTR and Director of the Interinstitutionnal Limnology Research Group (GRIL).

During these presentations, Ms. Chavignot had the opportunity to meet some forty representatives from the UQAM and UQTR, to discuss the management of the corporation, the benefits of participating in the SLGO and examples of applications that can be developed through the SLGO.ca portal. These meetings also helped mobilize people interested in being involved in the various working committees of the SLGO, such as the Scientific Advisory Committee and the Virtual Network of Experts. Furthermore, reflection has begun on various collaborative projects that can be developed by the SLGO.

In addition, Ms. Chavignot met a dozen research professors from the University of Montreal and members of the GRIL. They seem interested in the SLGO project and expressed their desire to initiate steps with their administration in order to become active members of the corporation.
