The 2009 edition of the «Forum québécois en science de la mer» was held at the Rimouski Centre des congrès on November 10-11.
Close to 300 scientists and maritime environment stakeholders, including many SLGO representatives, gathered to discuss issues related to changing ecosystems. The two-day conference included topics topics such as climate change, circulation and geodynamics, biogeochemic fluxes and productivity, trophic linkages, biodiversity, community and population structures and genomic, biomass production and exploitation, eutrophication, aquatic invasive species and pathogens, contaminants and freshwater flows and their implications with respect to hydroelectricity, navigation and aquaculture.
The Forum program also included the SLGO official launch and also put emphasis on the 10th anniversary of ISMER.
