On April 20-23, an Argentinean delegation returned to Rimouski in order to further develop a potential collaboration with various actors of the science and marine technologies sector of the region. SLGO has been at the center of many discussions and presentations aiming at identifying business and technology transfer opportunities, with, among others, the knowledge agency Comodoro Conocimiento. At this time, a proposal for the development of an oceanic observatory in the San Jorge Gulf is being examined, which could translate into the involvement of SLGO in a pilot project.
This delegation included representatives of Argentinean national authorities, Chubut provincial authorities and Comodoro Rivadavia municipality. In 2008, an economic mission in Argentina has prompted the interest for creating an oceanic observatory based on the St. Lawrence Global Observatory model.
