Mr Demers, president of SLGO, attended a Stratégies Saint-Laurent forum titled «Des collectivités actives tournées vers le Saint-Laurent ». He presented the SLGO as an example of interjurisdictional cooperation. The forum held March 22-24, 2009 in Trois-Rivières was part of the 20th anniversary of the St. Lawrence Plan series of events. The main objective was to focus on reinforcing community capacities to support the sustainable development of the St. Lawrence by fostering collaboration between various sectors. Participants from municipalities, industry, research, education and communities were present as well as First Nations and governments.
